Short and sweet for Thanksgiving Day, 2016.
Google is primed to release a new version of it’s mobile friendly test for web pages. You can try it out here. There’s really no excuse these days for not passing it.
In related news, it also seems that pages served up using the Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) plugin don’t necessarily comply with Google’s own Mobile PageSpeed Insights test. It’s still really hard to get rid of the “render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content” warning. It’s really quite funny that it is one of Google’s own resources, https://fonts.googleapis.com/…Merriweather:400,400italic,700,700italic, that’s the only thing getting in the way. Gotta look into WebFontLoader after the holiday.
